Fifth Tom Bass Seminar on Diversity in Equestrian Sport -
Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 - new
date!
The 5th Tom Bass Seminar on Diversity in
Equestrian Sport will be presented as a hybrid event at the Tryon
International Equestrian Center and Resort (TIEC) on Saturday
afternoon, November 23rd. The annual gathering examines
issues relating to diversity in a) domestic and b) international
arenas. Launched in 2019 as part of the 2nd Annual Day of the
African Equestrian (DOTAE), the seminar will take place in a climate
of political, commercial and societal disruption highlighted by
question over migration, police brutality, reparations, cultural and
economic imperialism, wokeness and a widening gap between 'the
haves' and 'the have nots' in the United States and other countries.
A distinguished group of international panelists - including social
activists, journalists, entrepreneurs, riders, trainers and
representatives of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) -
will discuss topics relevant to diversity in equestrian sports.
